Educator.
I am an educator for University dance programs, conservatory training programs, professional drop-in classes and competitive dance studios.
My teaching philosophy draws on my knowledge base in anatomy, release technique, floor-work, the Itcush method, and improvisation. My technique classes’ predominately explore European floor-work and Limon inspired standing work. I also use a mix of task-based exercises and structured improvisations to develop a wide dynamic range in the body. I enjoy challenging the body to move in and out of the floor with freedom, precision, and fluidity.
I have spent many years training in European dance techniques. I am one of the only dance artists in Canada to have trained extensively with the creators of Flying Low, Gaga and Countertechique.
I have taught at the University of Calgary, Toronto Metropolitan University, Mile Zero Dance, YYC Contemporary Technique Training, The Fifth, Strathcona High School, Alberta Dance Theatre, Maddox Dance Company, Elements Dance co, Dancer’s Edge Studio, Trip the Light, Caroline Dance West, Dance Explosions, and Rocky Dreams Dance School summer dance intensives.
